Watching Brody grow up has been the greatest adventure of my life, but now, with his departure for college just a year away, a strange mix of emotions washes over me daily. The sheer excitement I feel for his future, all the new knowledge, the friendships, the independence, is a joyous tidal wave. Yet, underneath that excitement is a churning fear, a quiet dread of the silence that will fill his room.

It’s an emotional time, saying goodbye to the daily rhythm we’ve shared for eighteen years and stepping into a new chapter where my biggest job is suddenly "done." I know he's ready, but a piece of my heart is already packed and on that journey with him.
